About Lynne Routsong-Wiechers, LISW
Lynne Routsong-Wiechers, LISW, is the owner of Midwest Counseling Centers of Ohio, bringing over 34 years of experience in the mental health field. A lifelong resident of Dayton, Lynne has built strong connections with local organizations and community leaders, allowing her to collaborate effectively and link clients with resources that extend beyond the therapy office.
Her career began as a juvenile probation officer, where she worked closely with some of the most severely neglected and abused foster children—an experience that shaped her lifelong dedication to advocacy, healing, and resilience. Over the years, Lynne has served in diverse clinical and leadership roles, practiced psychotherapy across multiple settings, taught social work students at the University of Dayton, and published articles and research on a variety of mental health topics.
In addition to her extensive clinical expertise, Lynne has a special passion for working with individuals struggling with obesity and weight-related concerns. Having faced her own personal challenges with weight, she understands firsthand the emotional, social, and physical impacts it can have—and what it’s like to truly “walk in those shoes.” Her work in this area has included involvement in the bariatric programs at Kettering Health Network and Premier Health, where she provided counseling, education, and support to those navigating their weight loss journeys.
This area of specialty is one of Lynne’s deepest callings, alongside her work with a broad spectrum of client concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions.
Lynne’s commitment took on even greater urgency during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the nation faced an unprecedented mental health epidemic. In response, she opened Midwest Counseling Centers of Ohio during this challenging time, expanding access to high-quality care when it was needed most.
At MCCO, Lynne leads a team that values collaboration, empathy, and empowerment. She believes therapy is a partnership, where clients are supported in their healing while being encouraged to create meaningful, lasting change. Her decades of experience, personal insight, and passion for helping others—combined with her deep roots in the Dayton community—have made her a trusted and respected voice in the mental health field.
